Publishing Career & Business Support

Within the publishing industry:
Raven Tongue Publishing provides entry level support for women new to writing and credential boosting conditions for seasoned writers through our quarterly women's magazine. Aside from increasing one's portfolio of experience, previous publication is often a requisite for writers looking to publish books, enter contests, apply for grant funding, or to be hired as a writer with various magazines and periodicals. This includes structural aspects such as assessed entry vs automatic inclusion for columns and feature pieces, and in the case of contests, fee based entry and a judging panel to determine winners. Winning an award also increases a writer's credentials while boosting self confidence. Raven Tongue proudly offers the annual CAWW Award (Critically Acclaimed Women Writers) for the advancement of women in the literary arts. A micro-fiction challenge specifically designed to hone the craft of writing. Every publishing experience increases knowledge of the industry and furthers connections within the field. To further support our contributors, we also provide every contributor with:

Business support outside of publishing:
One mandate Raven Tongue holds is to uplift and support women in business - particularly for those under the poverty line, abuse survivors, or those who live within further marginalized circumstances. Our contributors meet monthly for round table discussions on various aspects of business, to brainstorm solutions to individual challenges, review platforms and programs, form collaborations and mutually supportive working relationships, as well as commiserate struggles and celebrate wins. A private Discord server also allows for discussions, calls for support, and in-sourcing from our talent pool in between these monthly group calls. |
