Cultivating Matriarchal Community

Upholding matriarchal values is an important aspect for Raven Tongue, and we do this through a number of ways for both our contributors and our readership.
​For our contributors:
  • Prioritizing the personal well-being of our contributors.
    Long writing windows for our columnists allows writers to work when their subject matter feels alive within them, and to take time away for tending to physical, mental, and spiritual and familial needs.
  • Monthly group social calls.
    Once a month we gather to deepen friendships, celebrate wins, commiserate hardships, and show up authentically.
  •  Monthly group business calls.
    A network of the women in business among us mentoring each other, brainstorming solutions, leveraging audience reach, in-sourcing and collaborating for mutual successes both within the writing industry as well as outside of it.
  • Private Discord Server.
    Spanning threads ranging from pairing up writing buddies and Beta Readers to special interest sharing and even cultural holy day events. This space keeps us connected socially and draws on community strengths between monthly calls.
  • Healing through wisdom sharing & heart speak.
    Due to the nature of Raven Tongue's content, many contributors tend to personal trauma, regain empowerment, speak truth to power, mourn, face fears, myth bust and taboo break while sharing their lived experiences and gathered insights into topics common to most, but suffer suppressed discussion.
For our readership:
  • Re-villaging via a sacred living women's magazine.
    Raven Tongue connects women internationally through practical guidance and heart speak for modern times.  Each article is intended to meet readers with seasoned wisdom, actionable practices, a sense of kinship, and/or inspiration.
  • Full sensory engagement.
    Visually beautiful and thought provoking pages also include interactive creative or relaxing activities, audio components, and even recipes for tasting.
  • Community building.
    A directory of our wise women and skilled artisans encourages connection beyond our pages, with contributors featuring highlighted biographies and digital access to further offerings - allowing our circles of support to expand wherever resonance is found.
